Seeing is believing, what comes around goes around, we reap what we sow..blah blah blah blah. The reality of this is far simpler then you can imagine. The negative we notice in others is what we refuse in ourselves. The positive we see in others is the potential we feel in ourselves. Bottom line, verbally or mentally, listen to the damn words you project to anyone other then yourself; it's the fastest way to discovering who you are.
